What if I don’t want to teach and just want to deepen my own practice?
That is perfectly fine. A lot of people that do YTT don’t teach after training. They find it incredibly helpful to deepen their own practice and understand their own body better.
Do I have to do Yoga Teacher Training to teach yoga?
I highly recommend that you do and it will be noticed that you’ve been professionally trained.
One of the key elements of YTT is the anatomy piece. If we understand different anatomies, we are able to safely guide others into a sustainable practice.
How important is it to choose a school that is Yoga Alliance endorsed?
I think it’s important. The process to be certified though Yoga Alliance is rigorous and thorough. Not every school that applies is certified. They have a panel of experienced yoga practitioners that take time to ensure the material taught is accurate and safe.
Can I do yoga and still be a Christian?
Yes. Many people from many different walks of life and religions do YTT to better understand their bodies and live healthier lives.
What if I can’t make every single date?
That is ok. You do have to complete all 200 hours to be certified but we can work out make up dates/activities.
Are there tests and homework?
Yes. There will be three tests throughout the course. All three will be you demonstrating what you’ve learned to the students in the class. The homework will be two written assignments that you will submit to me through email.
What if I still have questions?
Feel free to reach out to me through email at email@example.com
What makes this school different?
You’re not forgetting about to go on this journey alone after training is complete. We are more than a yoga school we are a community.
You will be provided with ideas through an exclusive social media group for you to continue deepening your own practice during and after training.
You will have access to ask questions in between sessions, so you can feel supported, seen and heard.
You will have your very own log in to the anatomy course taught by our very own Laura G. who happens to be an Occupational Therapist, Yoga Teacher, and Yoga Therapist. This means you will have lifelong access at your fingertips to revisit the material whenever you want.

You will also receive a $100.00 referral bonus for everyone you refer to the school’s YTT.
The bulk of training is held on weekends, and it takes about 6 months to complete.
We are certified through Yoga Alliance which has certified the material we teach is accurate and provides safe practices.

500 Hour Yoga Alliance Registered Teacher | A.S. Psychology
I will be guiding you through the majority of this journey to help you reach your highest Self through safe practices, deepen your practice and gain the necessary tools to teach if you so choose to.
I have a background Psychology, so I understand how to provide trauma sensitive yoga in a safe space.
Yoga found me when I needed it most. I was dealing with depression, anxiety, and unbearable back pain.
I found true healing by understanding my body, mind and soul better and stepped into a whole new world of inspiration through yoga.
I knew I needed to share this healing gift with others, so I began teaching yoga while earning a Psychology Degree.
It is now my life mission to share the healing I found with others.
Occupational Therapy & Yoga Therapy
I will be leading you through the world of yoga anatomy through online modules and some live training.
I am a Yoga Therapist with over 15 years of experience working in Healthcare, Wellness, and Rehabilitation.
My education as an Occupational Therapist combines with my deep study of yoga to bring together modern science-based approaches with ancient wisdom.
I find the human body to be an endless source of awe and inspiration. It is my goal to share the study of anatomy and physiology with yoga teachers in a way that is easy to understand, applicable to the practice of yoga, and fosters a sense of wonder.

Hear What My Students Have to Say
It took me too long to finally show up to yoga with Shauna.
A lot of it had to do with time, but really it came down to stepping out of my comfort zone. I was afraid, I didn't know what to expect and I didn't want to be embarrassed.
I am so happy I finally found time to try it! I never want to miss a week; it is such an important part of my week. 1 hour of peace!
Shauna is so helpful and friendly! She is perfect at making every person feel comfortable.
Anytime I am unsure if I am doing a move correctly, she will quietly speak out a reminder to the group. Never calling anyone out specifically, but always giving encouragement to go at your own pace for your body!
If you haven't tried yoga before this is the perfect place to start. If you have, great, you'll have a beautiful space to practice and an amazing instructor.
Thank you, Shauna! My days have been better since I met you!
I have been privileged to know Shauna, in several different capacities:
1) As my yoga mentor.
2) As a business partner.
3) As my yoga instructor.
Shauna was experiencing one of the darkest moments of her life during most of this. When I asked her how she was able to remain so calm and peaceful, she gave full credit to the yoga she was studying and implementing.
Yoga has become a passion and way of life for Shauna. She knows how to put her students and friends at ease, both on and off the mat.
I know of a young man who prefers to do Yoga with Shauna and will travel the 30-minute distance on a Saturday morning, just so he can practice with her.
He says he not only loves the setting, and the great causes Shauna supports, but her energy.
I hope you will come and discover Shauna's quietly wonderful strengths for yourself through her yoga classes and trainings.
Classes are held one weekend a month and the program takes about 6 months to complete. In the event we need to schedule on a weekday we will work together as a group to come up with times that will work for everyone. This allows you to keep your day job, if you want to, while you go through training.
The class size is limited to 10 people, which allows for one-on-one attention, so you won’t get lost in the crowd.
Payment plans are flexible, so you will easily be able to pay down the investment over the course of the 6 months.
In the event something comes up with family There will be two make-up sessions. One in the middle of training and one near the end. If you need to miss more than two sessions or 20 hours total, you will need to make it up during the next training for a small administrative fee. You will still graduate with your class you just won’t be certified until the hours are made up.
You will never be required to do a pose that isn’t right for your body. My number one priority is your safety.
If you still have questions or concerns, click on the button to email me questions. I’m happy to connect with you and answer all of your questions.
